Community Infrastructure:

The "Community Infrastructure" sector at ORD focuses on improving and developing basic and essential physical and social infrastructure within communities. The core activities encompass a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall well-being, resilience, and sustainability of fragile and conflict-affected communities. The core activities in the ORD Community Infrastructure sector aim to create a foundation for community development by addressing fundamental needs related to shelter, water, sanitation, energy, transportation, and more. These initiatives contribute to the overall improvement of living conditions, resilience to challenges, and sustainable development within the communities. ORD main areas of focus within the Community Infrastructure sector are: water access and sanitation facilities, irrigation infrastructures, emergency shelter access roads, multipurpose community centers, clinics and school buildings and repair, renewable energy facilities, waste management support, digital access systems, community collective enterprises, children and youth recreation facilities, and agri-business related rural facilities. Since early 2013, ORD has worked with affected communities to bring resilience and livelihood stability. at ORD, this sector covers almost 14 provinces in North, North-east, East and South-east regions. A total of 166,800 households benefit from these services in 14 target provinces.
