ORD GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE

A robust five-pillar framework ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making

Governance:

ORD has five pillars of organizational governance. It includes the i) General Assembly (GA), ii) Board of Directors (BoD), iii) Advisory Board (AB), iv) Senior Management Team (SMT), and v) Field Management Team (FMT).

Highest Authority

General Assembly (GA)

This is the most top-level governance body, holding meetings every two years. This body appoints the BoD and can suspend, dissolve, and reactivate the organization in line with ORD bylaws and country NGO laws.

Strategic Leadership

Board of Directors (BoD)

Appoints and terminates the Director General, elects new members, and provides strategic direction. Signs contracts above director general level. Holds meetings every six months and reports to GA.

Technical Advisory

Advisory Board (AB)

Not a governance body, but provides technical advisory role on strategic and technical issues. Committed professional experts provide expert-level inputs on matters of strategic importance.

Operational Excellence

Senior Management Team (SMT)

The most critical governance body within ORD hierarchy. Holds regular weekly meetings and makes major operational decisions. Chaired by the Director with heads of sections as members.

Field Operations

Field Management Team (FMT)

Decision maker on day-to-day activities at the field level, holding meetings once each week. Reports to SMT at HQ on a weekly basis. Handles limited external relations at the field level.
