The main focus of ORD "Food Security and Agriculture" unit is to address issues related to food production, distribution, and access, with the overall goal of ensuring that communities have reliable access to sufficient, nutritious food., particularly during emergencies and crises. To boost and promote food security, ORD adapts execution strategies such as sustainable agriculture, crop diversification, capacity building of farmers, access to seeds and improved varieties, irrigation and water management, harvest, and post-harvest management, value chain and market access, livestock and animal husbandry management, climate-resilient agriculture, community food security initiatives, and community nutrition education. ORD has over nine years of experience in food security and agriculture initiatives and has executed over 35 projects funded by UN agencies and multilateral donors. Our food security program covers almost 15 provinces in Afghanistan and has served 388000 eligible and food insecure households.
